 Prof. Balangucmon was a remarkable Frenchman. He had devoted all his life to educate the Tuareg. He saved Christopher's life towards the end of hitch-hiking. Having missed meeting Christopher during the unfortunate detour, he managed to send out four trucks to cover the desert. Thus, his wisdom saved Christopher's life in the end.
